HR Operations Specialist (Hybrid)
Position Summary
Verbit is seeking a full-time detail-oriented and tech-savvy HR Operations Specialist to support and enhance day-to-day HR processes. This role is ideal for someone who is highly organized, comfortable working with data and systems, and quick to learn new tools to improve efficiency. The HR Operations Specialist will play a key role in supporting HR operations across benefits, leave administration, onboarding/offboarding, and employee data management, while leveraging technology and reporting to streamline processes and improve accuracy. This role partners closely with the HR Business Partner who provides guidance on complex employee matters, while this position focuses on coordination, execution, and process support.
HR Operations & Employee Support
- Provide routine employee support by responding to HR-related questions and requests
- Escalate complex employee relations, benefit, or leave issues as appropriate
- Maintain employee documentation and provide general administrative HR support
- Support and track key HR processes to ensure timely and accurate completion
- Coordinate and manage HR process workflows, ensuring consistency and efficiency
Onboarding & Offboarding
- Coordinate onboarding and offboarding processes end-to-end
- Send welcome communications and new hire materials
- Initiate and monitor background checks
- Enter employee data into ADP and other systems
- Partner with IT to generate and track onboarding/offboarding tickets
Benefits Administration
- Support administration of benefits programs including enrollments, terminations, and life events
- Respond to general employee benefit inquiries and escalate complex issues as needed
- Assist with invoice reconciliation and vendor coordination
- Support open enrollment planning, coordination, and communications
Leave Administration
- Support leave of absence processes including tracking, documentation, and communication
- Coordinate STD/LTD paperwork and ensure timely submission
- Partner on complex or escalated leave cases
- Ensure a smooth and organized leave process for employees and managers
HR Systems, Data & Reporting
- Maintain employee data within HR systems ensuring accuracy and integrity
- Run and distribute routine and ad hoc reports
- Assist with reporting and data requests
- Leverage technology to improve reporting and streamline processes
Process Improvement & Technology
- Quickly learn and utilize HR tools and systems
- Identify opportunities to simplify, automate, or improve workflows
- Assist with system updates and enhancements
- Document and standardize HR processes
Required Qualifications
- 3–5+ years of experience in HR Operations role
- Experience with reporting tools or dashboards
- Strong ability to learn and adapt to new systems and tools quickly
- Experience supporting benefits, onboarding/offboarding, and HR operations processes
- Understanding of benefits and leave administration and coordination
- Strong Excel skills (data organization, formulas, pivot tables)
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with ADP Workforce Now
- Exposure to benefits and leave administration (including FMLA, STD/LTD)
- Experience supporting multi-state and/or Canadian workforce
- Familiarity and experience building custom reports

Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $60,000 – $70,000 annually
- Hybrid schedule (Generally, 4 days remote, 1 day in office)
